Laurie Teklits was born and raised in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. From an early age, she has had a passion to care for and help children which influenced her career in the pediatric field. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Nursing degrees from Villanova University. Laurie has extensive experience working at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a Registered Nurse, as well as a CPNP, before relocating to the Raleigh/Wake County area 4 years ago. Since then she’s worked within the triangle area. She has been in practice as a CPNP for almost 10 years. She considers her job to be an extension of her personal life because as a mother she strives to help her children grow and learn in the most healthy way possible. Throughout the lifespan from the newborn period through adolescence, children can encounter challenges, illnesses, and other road blocks, and Laurie feels motivated and inspired to help guide patients and families in improving these struggles. Laurie truly feels that babies, children and teenagers are our future. Laurie is honored to be a provider for the Wake Forest Pediatric Team to help be a part of the process of helping her patients achieve their goals in life and stay healthy along the way.
Laurie lives in Raleigh with her husband and their children. She loves to read, learn, travel, swim, and spend time with her family.
